Following on from the last 6 Monday Post’s we are uncovering the ‘8 things’ you should never say to a patient & this Monday we dig into – “I have never seen anything like that before…”
Any exclamation of shock or statement of not knowing is certainly a ‘no no’ in your practice. A new patient may present with or an old patient may return with an injury or symptom you’ve never even heard about, but refrain from actually telling them that. This may place anxiety among them and it also leads to a lack of confidence in you. Patients are putting their health in your hands and they want to know (or at least think!) that you’ve been around the block and back and have the experience that they are paying for.
